This year's Kau Yan College Annual Book Fair is themed " Embarking on a reading journey, Nourishing our heart and mind." A variety of meaningful reading activities have been organized to give students a brief respite from their heavy academic workload, allowing them to draw inspiration and comfort from the philosophical musings found within books.
The school has arranged author talks across different subjects during both junior and senior high assemblies, giving students the opportunity to hear firsthand about the creative journeys of writers. Additionally, we have partnered with Christian and Missionary Alliance Sun Kei Secondary School to host a Literary Salon, where teachers and students from both schools engaged in discussions on the theme of "Humor," exploring various insights in literary history and popular culture.
We also held a Picture Book Workshop, where our library leaders guided students from Tai Po Methodist School in reading picture books and creating crafts. This experience helped them appreciate how to face various life situations with a calm heart.
Our teachers seized the opportunity during the annual book fair to promote reading. In addition to language teachers leading students through the book fair, Mathematic and BAFS teachers shared excellent reading materials and insights during Lunchtime Reading Sessions. On the final day, teachers have purchased books and shared their thoughts on reading, marking the end of the book fair this year.
